My lovely wife Gina has been at me for years to build her a pizza oven – and in the same breath said it would be nice to build them at the guesthouses.
Well, I wasn’t going to build three of them, so as ‘Necessity is the Mother of Invention’ I thought it would be wise move to build it on wheels.
Using the frame of an old tobacco trailer and a shape which is well known in the King Valley, I thought if this shape can cure tobacco it should be able to cook pizza’s.
Meet our friend Norm. Norm is a ‘jack of all trades’. When you run an idea past Norm, he never asks “why?”, he always says “I don’t see why not!”
With a little help from our friends, we tested it, and yes, the pizzas tasted as good as they looked!
In the King Valley you don’t have to go far to find a good bottle of wine to go with any good food – a dozen friendly family owned and operated wineries are within a 15 minute drive, and even more cellar doors are within half an hours drive from Glenmore Springs.
What else can I say? Cheers, salute and buon appetito!
